Getting My Healthy Back

So it's no secret that I fell off the wagon.  This is a post I never wanted to write, but here I am admitting it and owning it.

Pizza and wine became less of a treat and more of a normal thing.  The gym and I were not longer friends and I found every excuse in the book to not go.  You would think it would have been delightful well it wasn't it was horrible, I felt awful about myself, and my clothes didn't fit, but each day I made yet another excuse.

Rewind to a month ago, Valentine's Day.  My better half was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.  Our worlds were crushed, but at this point we knew shit had to get done.  For him, for me, for the boys!  So thus began our new journey TOGETHER.

Looking back this is always something I wanted, to be healthy together.  To crush goals together.  Now don't get me wrong this is NOT the way I wanted it to happen for him to get sick, but now we have NO excuses AT ALL.  It is all about being healthy now.

Like I said, it has been a month.  He is down 19 pounds and currently on one pill of medication and thankfully his sugars are fully under control.  He has been accountable to everything he eats, eating low carb, walking on his lunch break, coaching the boys baseball teams, and going to the gym.  That man has always made me proud, but I am beyond proud right now yet again.

So... where does that leave me?  BACK AT IT!  I am doing 4 workouts a week, falling back in love with the gym, being accountable to everything I eat, taking my Advocare supplements and doing everything in my power to support him.

I have a long long long way to go to get back to when I was the best shape of my life, but that's ok because I am trying.  Just trying makes me feel better.  Pushing myself makes me proud, saying no to temptations makes me feel strong.  Planning my meals and finishing a workout makes me feel confident.  Explaining to the boys about sugar and calories and being active makes my heart full.

So there you have it.  I may no longer be "fitmamato3" but I am back and working on me for them, all of them... for us.
