A Birthday Photo Shoot

I have tons and tons and tons of things to update everyone on, but things have been sad, mess, scary, and devastating.  I plan to get around to a big post with all sorts of updates soon, but for now let me show off something fun.

Spawn 3 turned "THREE" this week and the twins will be five in a couple weeks.  The awesome crew over at Andy & Evan provided us with these amazingly cute outfits.  So, I dusted off the camera and did what any proud Mama would.  Snapped away at her prize possessions so she could show them and their cuteness off.

Cleanse Day 5

So day 4 was a bust.  My Saturday turned into a major slip up.  We had some friends over for a BBQ which was fine.  We made chicken and a tomato salad and I even skipped over the s'mores, however… there was wine.  Not like a glass, but more like a bottle.

Needless to say the next morning wasn't the greatest but I stuck to my shake even though I wanted a hangover burger.  I even took Maggie out on an early morning walk after I caught her chewing on my Nikes.  I figured that was her way of saying come on lets go for a jog.  And actually it went awful.  All these puppy rests and I even had to carry her part of the way so no she isn't ready hahaha.

I had the rest of my Rubio's concoction for lunch.  Then we ended the night listening to Spawn Maker and his band play on the deck at a Mexican Resturants.  I ate ok there too.  I had a couple chips but for the most part a salad with chicken and salsa on it.

Cleanse Day 4

A little Saturday morning gym mix up!

I cut it a little short because I took the spawn to Toys R' Us to window shop for their Birthdays. Yes 3 birthdays within 2 weeks oh lucky lucky lucky me.  Can you say Cha-Ching?

Throwing in a little Jason Derulo well because I heart ❤️ him. And for your listening pleasure how about a little Bel Biv Devoe!  Yes I went there.  Let me just make myself feel old for a minute when I say this is the first cassette I owned that I played in my walk man. Second would be the Dirty Dancing soundtrack #ohpatrickswayzesbuttcheeks I clear as day can picture myself on my rollerblades skating around with my walk man clipped to my jean shorts rocking Poison.  Eh no shame over here.

Oh and My Fitness Pal no thanks I'll pass on the 123, but thanks for the offer.

As far as the rest of the day and the shopping trip went it was clear that Spawn 3 has NO clue how to window shop and I was blessed with a chaotic throw yourself on the ground scream bloody murder kinda deal when we tried to leave because we were leaving the store with his lawn moooer and vacuum.  Yes that's my son and thats what he wants and yes yes yes thats what he got Don't worry you will get a Birthday post next week.

As for Spawn 1 and 2 they were awesome.  Spawn 2 wanted a bat mobile, a razor scooter, and a smallish pinball table.  As for Spawn 1 a puzzle, a Mario Kart video game oh and about one thing on every other aisle.

By this point in the day and having had worked out I was fracking starving.  There was NO going home and cooking at this point so we headed over to Rubio's where I was seriously surprised that they had this protein salad bowl sorta thingy that seemed perfect.  Oh and it was.  Lettuce, rice, black beans, pico de gallo, shrimp, guacamole, and maybe a little sauce which I would have said no to had I realized.  I ate half of it and felt content that I did pretty dang well eating out.  The guacamole isn't necessary allowed at that meal, but I earned it with the work out.  I will FOR SURE be ordering that again.

Cleanse Day 2

So I get asked ALL the time "does your family eat what you eat?" The answer is sort of. Lunch time not usually they have sandwiches but dinner sort of.

I have zucchini spaghetti they have regular. They have tacos I make mine on lettuce. Well tonight I wanted to smack my head into the granite island. Have you ever grated a big ass pile of sharp cheddar AND jack cheese and not stolen a pinch? Or cracked open a can of black olives and not taken one? Yes the struggle is real people. But guess what even when it f-ing sucks I know it's so worth it. Why? Because food is fuel. Because I like a challenge. Because I like seeing my body change. Because well I'm stronger then the damn cheese!

4 oz shredded chicken tossed with salsa
1/4 cup brown rice
1/4 cup black beans
Topped with a garden tomato
4 oz ground turkey
Heirloom tomato
Garlic powder

Topped with onion cilantro, tomato, green onions and hot sauce

Cleanse Day 1 and First Day of School

Both slightly hard, but both went great!

School for the Twins

5 years ago today I lay in my bed on bed rest hoping and praying to keep these two little guys safe in my belly for a few more weeks.  I spent years fighting to get them in my belly and 36 weeks trying to keep them there.

All the while I didn't let my mind wander to the really cool stuff that would one day happen because of the fear that had been instilled in me for years.

I never got to think about the amazingly cool bond they would form or the quirks that would be their own or how one would excel in different areas then the other.  Or how they would fight like cats and dogs.
How one would be so athletic and independent and the other so stinking smart and cuddly.  How they would enjoy playing with different things and dressing differently.

These boys who are so uniquely different yet both equally amazing will be starting school on Wednesday.  Don't ask me how this happened because clearly I do not know where the time has gone.

Parts of me wish time would just stop for a little while, but then again I would miss watching them grow, change, and learn.

I sit here in tears of a little joy because I know this is a great thing for them and frankly me too #mamaneedsabreak but also in sadness that our lives are changing from here on out.

These dudes will go to school for the next 18 years or so, these dudes are no longer my babies, these dudes will no longer just stay home and hang out with me and be my side kicks at the gym or on our walks.

They will become more independent, make friends, lose friends, learn some harsh realities, and grow so much it makes my heart hurt.  They will have someone else teaching them besides me.

My hope is that they will admire, respect, and look up to this new woman that will be teaching them some pretty cool new things.  My hope is that they will love and enjoy going to school. That their amazing brains will suck in all this useful information they can take with them to become successful, smart, loving, caring, amazing men.

Good luck on Wednesday my sweet baby boys I know you will do great in this next chapter of your lives, and I promise to encourage and help you every step of the way.

I love you to the moon and back times 1,000.
